The Positive Atmosphere of Intertextile Beijing 2007 Was Evident

Intertextile Beijing– China International Trade Fair for Apparel Fabrics & Accessories held at the Beijing Exhibition Centre and the China World Trade Centre in 22 – 24 March 2007 , proved once again that it is a key meeting place for the apparel textile industry. The fair, jointly organised by Messe Frankfurt and the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT and the China Textile Information Centre, drew a positive response from the majority of exhibitors.
Intertextile Beijing is clearly regarded as the most important platform for apparel textile business in the north-eastern region of China.Since its creation in 2001, the show has become the first choice for garment manufacturers and buyers from this area to source anything and everything from fibres to fabrics and accessories.
With 892 exhibitors signed to participate - a 30% rise over 2006 ,30% more exhibition space for a total of 39,000 sqm spreading for the first time across two venues and 9.6% up to 19001 visitors from 77 countries and regions(including Chinese Mainland) ,Intertextile Beijing 2007 showed a very healthy growth and such an increase in exhibitor numbers will be set to continue.
Intertextile Beijing 2007 housed a wide range of apparel fabrics and accessories from all over the world. Nearly 900 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions have signed up to attend the fair.
The positive atmosphere of the fair was evident for all and the foreign exhibitors were especially enthusiastic about the potential of the north-east China market.
To help visitors navigate through hundreds of booths, Intertextile Beijing 2007 offers a series of international country and region pavilions that group together suppliers from one geographic area. Such as Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Pakistan, Thailand and Taiwan.
Italy featured the largest pavilion with 51 exhibitors and 793 sqm, followed by Korea with 33 exhibitors in 504 sqm. The Pakistan pavilion returned for a second time this year. To give more visibility to the Italian pavilion, a special trends area had been set up by Ornella Bignami of Studio Elementi Moda. The installation included a series of panels displaying fabric samples from the Spring/Summer 2008 collections of the exhibiting companies, selected and arranged according to theme, trend and respective colour palettes.
Domestic exhibitors had also pavilions arranged by product, including: the Zhejiang Xiaoshan group, displaying manmade fabrics; the Zhejiang Shaoxing group with cotton, linen and embroidery; the Jiangsu Shengze group, with an oriental silk market; and the China Bast & Leaf Fibres Textile Association group, which featured linen, denim and hemp.
Intertextile Beijing2007 also featured a look at the future of fashion in China and around the world through two special trend forums to introduce visitors to the budding styles for spring/summer 2008. The Interstoff Asia Directions Trend Committee had forecasted four themes for spring and summer 2008, which had been presented at the Interstoff Asia Trend Forum. Chinese fashion and design professionals presented a fashion forecast forum entitled Fabrics China, created by the China Textile Information Centre.
Intertextile Beijing 2007 ran concurrent to Yarn Expo Spring 2007, which also was held at the China World Trade Centre in 22 – 24 March 2007.
